I am a fan of Heath Ledger’s movies, and just loved him in ‘A Knight’s Tale’ and ‘10 Things I Hate About You’, so it was with disbelief that I read a message on my phone this morning, stating that the 28 year old was found dead in his home in Manhatten.

There weren’t any details other than to say there was no foulplay, so I guess it is just a game of wait and see what unfolds as to the cause of death, over the next few days. Although there is speculation that the death was drug related as there were pills found on the scene.

Heath is due to be seen playing the part of the Joker in the upcoming Batman movie “The Dark Knight”.

He recently separated from his partner, Michelle Williams, and they have a two year old daughter, Matilda Rose.

Such a shame to see his life cut short at such a young age.

Well unless you think about using Outsource your Life! then there generally isn’t another option.

I can’t wait until the day they design a robot that can do all the mundane stuff. But in the meantime why not get yourself a special edition, genuine 7-foot tall, fully animatronic remote - controlled version of Robby.

Only the finest materials have been used and Robby is pre-programmed to deliver the lines he made famous in the original movie.

The remote control allows you to adjust the volume, track selection and stop and start functions. He will also move, rotate his servo-controlled head and rotate his scanners while various lights flash. Robby has an integral audio system which produces cd - quality sound from a directional speaker system in his head. You can connect the sound system to a home theater system and you can even project your own voice through Robby’s sound system with the wireless microphone which is included.

The body is constructed of fiberglas so it will not warp over time and all the metals are machine-grade brass, titanium and aluminum for lasting durability and quality.

Robby the Robot is only available from Hammacher Schlemmer.

Paula and I have just purchased a couple of games, the first one is ‘Cooking Mama’ for the DS and the other is ‘The Darkness’ for the PS3.

‘Cooking Mama’ is one of those addictive games that are a lot of fun to fill in a few moments now and then. There are a number of cooking related tasks that you need to master and the degrees of difficulty range from really easy to quite hard.

‘The Darkness’, is totally awesome. I have only just started it but so far it is shaping up to be totally enthralling. The main character is possessed by The Darkness which destroys the enemy without mercy. This game is definately not for the faint hearted. The introductory clips between game play are designed to be intense and malevolent.

Will keep you posted on how the game pans out. So far I am loving it.

I have always been a huge Dr Who fan, right from the time it began with William Hartnell as the Dr. And over the years I have been saddened as each one passes and then grown to love the next Dr as he introduces his own distinct style and foibles into the show.

Captain Jack Harkness and Torchwood were introduced to us a couple of seasons ago in the Dr Who series.

I am finding the series has less charm and appeal than I had hoped and after watching Monday nights episode I have to say it was more of a stock standard horror than an alien story.

Now I don’t mind a good horror story that gets the adrenalin pumping but ever since watching the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I have a definate aversion to meat hooks, so reference to the cannibalism and hanging humans on meat hooks, kinda made me feel uneasy to say the least. The storyline turned out to be nothing to do with alien lifeforces trying to take over the planet, it didn’t even have the good old updated Daleks or Cybermen. So what is going on?

For those who aren’t familiar, Torchwood is where alien artefacts and beings that emerge through the Rift - in invisible tear in the fabric of reality, are stored.

The Torchwood team, led by Captain Jack Harkness, is Earth’s first line of defence and they are supposedly protecting humanity from dangers threatening it, both from beyond the Rift and closer to home in a century where everything changes.

One of the characters that I liked, Suzie, was killed of in the first show, so that sucked. I am having trouble warming to the new heroine, Gwen and I’m not fussed on Owen. I find the interaction between them tacky.

Still having said all that I will continue to watch the series, after all apart from Dr Who in the guise of David Tennant, there isn’t much on in the way of Sci Fi these days.

Well I have finally finished God of War and I have to say that I found it quite annoying towards the end. For anyone who has played this game you will have come to a point where you need to jump up a rotating pole with blades that stick out and try and kill you at every possible moment. It was one of those times where you feel like throwing the controller through the window in frustration.

I think I may have attempted it at least 30 times before I got up the pole but what was worse was that once you got up the pole another one followed it. Of course there was no point in which you could save it so the Playstation stayed on for about 3 days in a row while I kept trying.

Still it could have been worse…Wanda had made her way up the first pole and then left her console on overnight but by the time she got back to playing it the screen froze and she had to go back to the last save point and do it all again.

I don’t think I will go back to playing that one again. I much prefer God of War 2. It was difficult but not annoying.

Well we finally finished the PS2 game ‘God of War II’ on the PS3 gaming platform.

Just loved this game, it is full of action and Kratos as the main character grows on you, for all his bloodthirsty, uncaring ways. We brought ‘God of War’ the original game and a quick look at it shows that it will be as much fun to play as the one we have just finished.

There were a few spots that were frustrating and required quite a bit of concentration and effort to get through, but all in all the game has plenty to offer. The enemy are by no means a pushover and there are some parts that require a fair bit of working through to finalise. So it’s not just a blast your way through type of game, there is quite a bit of strategy involved.

We are back to playing ‘Fear ‘ on the PS3 and ‘Gears of ‘War’ on the Xbox. We are both stuck at the same place in Fear, simply because we don’t have enough health to get through the particulare battle. Still it’s all a matter of perseverence. I am sure some kid could do it in a flash.

Cedie has been up playing ‘Sonic’ on the Wii. She is a bit of a whizz at the games and loves coming up to play.

Unlike Paula, I am a hugh fan of Axel Rose and Guns n Roses from way back.

I think Axel has an awesome voice and apart from the fact that most of the songs are full of bad language, the music is great.

I remember sitting one day out on the patio with the stereo at full blast with a Guns n Roses cd playing and my teenage daughter came out and demanded I turn it off, as what would the neighbours think with all that bad language playing.

Well things are a bit different now, Varinia tends to like all the rude, crude and undesirable music and I have mellowed a bit.

So I am really looking forward to this concert and another night in Sydney at yet another hotel.

We have stayed in a variety of Sydney hotels and we have our favourites, Star City being up there at the top of the list, with the Stamford probably a close second. Unfortunately Star City was booked out as was the Novatel which is right near the venue. We are going to reserve our parking spot at Olympic Park before we leave Canberra, so at least we won’t have to worry about parking.

Its a really good idea being able to pre purchase a parking space.
